What We Do!

Citrus United Basket is a non profit organization. C.U.B. has been providing assistance since 1978 to families facing temporary financial hardship. C.U.B. assists by supplying food and clothing, help with electric bills if funds are available, locate household items for those who have lost their home to fire and offer encouragement to people who find themselves without employment or are abused.

We assist individuals entering the work place by providing appropriate clothes, guidance and people that really care. We provide special baskets of food during Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have a Birthday closet for children and distribute thousands of Christmas presents each year to hundreds of children in Citrus County. Every year C.U.B. consistently assist one of every four residents of Citrus County. These statistics may seem frightening but they are very real. We would not be able to aid families in need without the tireless efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of caring community. C.U.B. works with other agencies in an effort not to duplicate services provided.

Mission Statement

C.U.B. provides food, financial and material assistant in emergency cases to citizens of Citrus County by utilizing private, public, state and federal donations of food, money, household appliances and materials.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors meets the second Monday night of each month at The Lakes Region Library, in Inverness, beginning at 5:30pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
